  • Feb 2021 - Truworths is launching a new value fashion chain called Primark. Truworths plans to open approximately 15 Primark stores over the next few months, with an average store size of 100m² during the launch trial phase. These will be a mix of standalone stores and others located in existing Truworths-owned stores. The launch of Primark suggests that Truworths which also owns Identity, YDE, Uzzi and Earthchild hopes to tap into the growth opportunities present in the budget clothing market focused on lower-income consumers.

  • August 2023: Shivalik Group, an Ahmedabad-based real estate developer, and Stanley Furniture, one of India's top fully integrated luxury furniture manufacturers, forged a strategic partnership. The goal of this partnership is to open luxurious furniture stores throughout Gujarat.

  • August 2023: Sleep Number Corporation has introduced the next generation of smart beds and lifestyle furnishings. Designed to be used independently yet most effectively when combined, these innovations aim to enhance sleep quality and unlock individuals' full potential across all life stages. The next generation of Smart Beds was developed from the original Sleep Number 360 and awarded for its innovation. The knowledge of more than 19 billion hours of proprietary, longitudinal sleep data from the 360 Smart Bed has led to the most recent advances.
  • September 2022: Saatva introduced a dorm-friendly pillow, bedding, and mattress topper bundle. The new bundle is designed for students who want to upgrade their sleep comfort.

The app will help to bridge the gaps in the industry’s safety policy and standards by providing a 360-degree safety solution to their customers as well as business partners by providing remote and real-time incident reporting and audit capabilities, as well as training and consultation. 
  • In June 2023, The FITOUT, a prominent provider of comprehensive interior solutions in the Middle East and a subsidiary of Union Properties, partnered with Gurian, an Italian furniture manufacturing company. This collaboration aims to diversify product offerings and introduce Italy's finest luxury furniture to the UAE market.
  • In June 2023, Vivium Holding, a forward-thinking single-family office, announced a strategic distribution agreement with Kettal, a renowned Spanish outdoor furniture brand known for its focus on design and innovation. The collaboration includes the debut of Kettal's first store in the United Arab Emirates early next year, adding to Vivium Holding's expanding investment portfolio.
  • August 2023: Danish furniture brand JYSK expanded to Hanoi, Vietnam, and opened a new store in the Indochina Plaza Hanoi Residences in the capital city.
  • October 2022: World-renowned furniture company Wendelbo opened its first Vietnamese showroom. After more than a decade of producing goods in Vietnam, Wendelbo, a high-end interior brand, opened a store, a five-story showroom in Saigon.
  • In January 2024, as a part of its expansion, IKEA opened a new store in the North Kanto region in Japan. It is the first store in the region and the tenth store in Japan.
  • In May 2023, one of the leading Japanese producers of wooden furniture, Karimoku Furniture Inc., partnered up with internationally recognized avant-garde design firm Zaha Hadid Design to create SEYUN, an exclusive collection of exquisite furniture.
  • September 2023: International firms are rapidly expanding into the Vietnam furniture industry as a result of lower tariffs, an easy trading environment, convenient logistic services, and a wide range of materials for manufacturing furniture in the country. Denmark’s JYSK and BoConcept are the leading international players in this expansion. The international players are aiming to establish their manufacturing plants as well as to capture the Vietnamese furniture retail chain.
  • July 2023: AA Corporation completed the interior fit-out works, supplying and installing millwork and loose furniture at the Regent Phu Quoc resort. The resort has 176 suites and 126 villas with spacious rooms, and AA Corporation has supplied luxurious furniture for these rooms and suits. For this project, the company has provided mixed-use furniture development comprising luxury residences and a hotel.
  • January 2022: IKEA improved its e-commerce capabilities after having difficulty adapting after the pandemic. This was expected to improve its exports and imports across the globe and in Vietnam.
  • August 2022: Cybeart, a Canadian manufacturer of premium gaming accessories, announced the world's first Lord of the Rings Chair on 25th August 2022. In addition to Cybeart's existing range of officially licensed products, the upcoming product line will be a continuation of its ongoing partnership with Warner Bros.
  • June 2022: CORSAIR, a world leader in PC gaming peripherals and enthusiast components, launched the new CORSAIR TC200 Fabric Gaming Chair and the CORSAIR TC200 Leatherette Gaming Chair, a pair of bold new additions to the growing CORSAIR gaming furniture lineup. Each chair's racing-inspired design features a wide seat surface and extended height range, to accommodate taller individuals and help them sit in a relaxed position while gaming.
  • January 2023 - Majid Al Futtaim's Lifestyle division has taken on the UAE rights for Poltrona Frau, the luxury Italian furniture brand known for its leather interiors. This marks the UAE entity's entry into the home interiors space, which has been recording some fast-track growth in recent years in sync with developments in the wider property market.

Sophia Home has opened its second showroom in the United Arab Emirates at Dubai Hills Mall. In Abu Dhabi, it has become one of the best places to buy high-end furniture.
