According to FAO, production of lime accounted for 1481 thousand ton in 2018, which has increased by 14.5% compare to the previous year which accounted for 1293 thousand ton of lime in Brazil. However, the domestic consumption of lime has increased in the last decade. Imports of fresh lime into the European market has been growing, and the trend is expected to continue. European imports of fresh limes increased from 167 thousand ton in 2016 to 183 thousand ton in 2017, which in turn will drive the lime market in Brazil.
