October 2022: The Berlin-based startup Crowd.dev raised EUR 2.2 million (around USD 2.20 million) to support the expansion of open-source businesses via the efforts of the community. In order to leverage developers' influence over decision-making processes, the company is bringing developers together for real community interactions and creating a new growth channel.

April 2022: Spanish regulators have approved Crowdcube as an ECSP, allowing it to sell crowdfunded securities throughout Europe on April 22nd, 2022. The new European Crowdfunding Service Provider Rules (ECSPR), which took effect in November 2021, officially recognized Crowdcube as the first investment crowdfunding platform.

  • March 2024 - Lendlease, an international integrated real estate group and Princeton Digital Group (PDG) jointly announced the completion of the core and shell construction for Phase 1 of the TY1 data center campus, boasting a capacity of 96 MW, making it one of Japan's largest. Situated 30km north of central Tokyo, the TY1 campus spans 33,000 sqm in Saitama City, a key commercial hub in the Greater Tokyo area. The initial phase of the project features a six-story, 48 MW facility. TY1 marks the inaugural project under the Lendlease Data Centre Partners fund and represents PDG's debut in the Japanese data center market.
  • May 2023 - Princeton Digital Group (PDG), Asia's premier data center provider, inked a firm deal with JLand Group (JLG), Johor Corporation's real estate and infrastructure wing. The agreement entailed the acquisition of 31 acres of land in Sedenak Tech Park (STeP), Johor, earmarked for a 150 MW hyperscale campus. PDG committed RM 2 billion (approximately USD 450 million) to this venture, with the initial 60 MW slated for completion by Q2 2024.
  • February 2023: The French data center company Data4 announced plans for a new site in Hanau, Germany, on the site of a former army barracks in Hanu, east of Frankfurt. Previously, the GIC-backed European logistics real estate company P3 Logistic Parks had announced a large data center campus on this site. Data4 revealed plans for a sizable data center park after purchasing the roughly 20-hectare site from P3. Data4 intends to develop a campus of its data centers.
  • January 2023: CyrusOne acquired an office complex in Frankfurt, Germany, with plans to turn it into a data center campus. The investment group Corum sold the Europark office complex in Frankfurt for EUR 95 million (USD 102.3 million) before confirming that CyrusOne was the buyer. This acquisition is expected to boost opportunities for the vendors in the market.

  • May 2024: Vantage Data Centers, a leading data center provider, commenced construction on its inaugural campus in Japan, situated in northern Osaka. This expansive campus covers 485,000 sq. ft (45,000 sq. m) and will house two cutting-edge data center facilities. The primary data center, boasting a 28MW IT capacity, is on track to go live in early 2026.
  • June 2023: Digital Edge, in collaboration with real estate developer Hulic, unveiled plans for TYO7, an eight-story data center. The center has been designed to cater to the rising demands of end users and is slated to commence services in 2025.
  • January 2024: The ACS group was selected to build a hyperscale data center campus for meta in Jeffersonville, Indiana, through Turner Construction Company. The nearly 700,000-square-foot campus is expected to feature several data center buildings. Once completed, the Jeffersonville data center is anticipated to cost over USD 800 million to build.
  • October 2023: JLL, Lumen Technologies, and Schneider Electric are expected to offer customers around the United States modular data centers. JLL is anticipated to identify and select locations for the initiative, including approximately 5,000 sites across Lumen's fiber network. Schneider Electric brings its expertise in design and construction, with the agreement aiming to have ready-to-use modular data centers available in six to nine months.
  • October 2023: Arista Networks has introduced a portfolio of 25G Ethernet switches to support primarily financial applications that demand high performance and low latency. The new 7130 25G Series boxes are a significant power and features upgrade over the vendor’s current 7130 10G Ethernet line of devices and promise to reduce link latency 2.5-fold for data transmission by reducing queuing, serialization delays and eliminating the need for latency-inducing Forward Error Correction (FEC) typically required by 25G Ethernet.
