Cosmetic Packaging Industry Overview
The cosmetic packaging market is fragmented and comprises several global and regional players. Innovation and ease in deployment and usage, leading to end-to-end customer satisfaction through the product, are key factors driving product innovation and strategies among the market players. The key players in the market include Silgan Holdings Inc., Albea SA, HCP Packaging Co. Ltd, DS Smith PLC, and Berry Global Group Inc.
- July 2024: La Rosee, a French natural cosmetics company, selected Berry Global Group Inc. to co-develop an exclusive refillable stick for its popular best-selling deodorant. Berry’s Exclusive Refill enables consumers to continuously use the same deodorant stick with a specially designed refill that cannot be used independently. Additionally, the mono-material polypropylene (PP) construction of the refill solution offers a weight reduction of 62% compared to a whole stick.
- September 2023: French cosmetics brand L’Occitane partnered with cosmetic tube supplier Albéa Tubes from Albea SA to redesign the packaging of Albéa’s 30 ml hand cream collection. The new packaging solution features an all-plastic laminate and an Association of Plastic Recyclers-certified Greenleaf tube with a multilayer sleeve in high-density polyethylene (HDPE). It would replace the formerly used Aluminium Barrier Laminate tube for the collection and, in turn, reduce the product’s weight by 23%.
