- August 2023: O-I Glass, a prominent manufacturer of glass packaging for the food and beverage industry, introduced its innovative "Cento per Cento Sicily" bottles. These bottles showcase a distinct circular economy concept through a custom bottom logo. The entire production of these bottles takes place at O-I's facility in Marsala, Italy. Crafted from a minimum of 90% recycled glass, locally sourced from Sicily, these containers are not only eco-friendly but also remarkably lightweight, weighing a mere 410 grams. This design ensures optimal energy efficiency during the manufacturing process.
- January 2023: As part of the company's strategic plan for the years 2022-2024, O-I Glass announced the construction of three new furnaces, one for each year, aimed at augmenting production capacity by approximately 400 kilotons annually by 2024. The first furnace, located in Jacutinga, Brazil, was successfully commissioned in late 2022. The remaining two furnaces, presently under construction, are slated to become fully operational in 2024 and are situated in Campo Bom, Brazil, and Pescia, Italy. These cutting-edge furnaces will be powered by Oxy-combustion technology, promising to curtail CO2 emissions by approximately 18% when compared to conventional methods.

SBI invested in Canpac Trends with a view to capital appreciation, highlighting the growth and profitability potential of the paper packaging industry.

The centerpiece of this relaunch is 100% recycled, three-ply bath tissue, which aligns with the increasing consumer demand for sustainability while ensuring high standards of quality and softness.

- March 2024: Sealed Air developed a new paper bottom web to meet the needs of food processors, retailers, and consumers looking to reduce plastic consumption and meet paper packaging demand. CRYOVAC’s new barrier formable paper, branded under Sealed Air, is made of 90% fibers certified by the FSC. According to SEE, this paper bottom web can reduce plastic by 77% when replacing PET/PE bottom web packaging.
- January 2024: The new product, Sunfeast Farmlite Digestive Biscuit Family pack in 100% outer paper packaging, was launched by ITC Sunfeast Farmlite, a range of healthy biscuits from ITC Foods. It is the first brand to embrace 100% outer paper packaging. Ergonomic design aspects have been carefully selected, making paper packaging consumer-friendly, visually attractive, and comfortable.
- March 2024: Repsol launched its lubricant containers, integrating 60% mechanically recycled post-consumer plastic. This new material, a Repsol Reciclex series of eco-friendly polyolefins components, will be utilized in all 1-liter, 4-liter, and 5-liter lubricant containers.

- January 2024: Coca-Cola India and Reliance Retail, the retail arm of India-based conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), launched a new polyethylene terephthalate (PET) collection and recycling initiative. The initiative, called 'Bhool na Jana, Plastic Bottles Lautana,' will feature reverse vending machines and collection bins in Coca-Cola India's and Reliance Retail's stores in Mumbai and Delhi, with plans to roll it out nationwide. The initiative, part of the Indian government's larger 'Swachh Bharat' Mission, started with 36 stores, including those in Mumbai, Delhi's Smart Bazaar, and Sahara Bhandar.

These bottles are designed for critical life sciences applications and are produced in Savillex's ISO Class 7 facility in the United States.
- January 2024: Tekni-Plex Inc. introduced the world’s first 30% post-consumer recycled content pharmaceutical-grade blister film along with the partnership with Alpek Polyester. The blister film is also fully recyclable and meets all pharmaceutical requirements for PET as outlined in the European Pharmacopoeia Section 3.1.15 and the United States Pharmacopoeia Section 661.1.
- October 2022 - Tetra Pak, a multinational provider of food processing and packaging solutions, declared that it would establish a joint venture with Egyptian paper board producer Uniboard to recycle used beverage cartons (UBC) in Egypt for a sum of EUR 2.5 million (USD 2.59 million). When the plant reaches full capacity in five years, it will recycle 8,000 tonnes of UBC yearly after beginning the first operation the next year.
- June 2022 - The Board of Directors of the paper and cardboard division of the Chamber of Printing & Packaging Industries of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), led by the division's head Jamal Al-Saudi, prepared a case study on strategies to develop the paper and cardboard industry and the challenges it faces, for submission to the responsible authorities for their timely action. Al-Saudi pointed out that the study contains 15 recommendations for solving all the major problems faced by the paper and cardboard industry in Egypt and ways to develop them and increase the sector's exports.
- January 2024: PulPac, a Swedish packaging company, announced the acquisition of DMF Tooling, a new subsidiary of the company. DMF Tooling will provide serial-produced, multi-cavity tools specially designed for dry-molded fiber DMF production, which aligns with PulPac's mission to eliminate single-use plastics from the packaging industry. DMF Tooling will support the company's mission to promote a more sustainable future by accelerating the shift toward eco-friendly packaging solutions.
- April 2023: HZ Green Pulp signed a deal to become Malaysia's first dry-molded fiber producer. Dry molded fiber pioneer PulPac partnered with HZ Green Pulp as its first licensee in Malaysia. HZ Green Pulp aims for a speedy market launch to supply the growing pulp packaging market with dry-molded fiber products, starting with convenience products such as lids for hot and cold drinks, food trays, and cutlery.
- Dec 2020- Private investment firm Graham Partners continues its targeted investments in technology-driven advanced manufacturing companies and has acquired Berry Global Group Inc. The business will be combined with Graham Partners' flexible packaging portfolio company, Advanced Barrier Extrusions LLC (ABX), which Graham Partners acquired in August 2018. The business will operate under the ABX name in the future.
- March 2021- Greiner Packaging announced that it has expanded its range of sanitizer bottles to meet the increased demand. The new product range includes 16 bottles, including sanitizers, and comes in different sizes and shapes with capacities ranging between 100 and 1000 milliliters. These bottles are all produced using the ISBM process and have round bodies, which can be made from up to 100% r-PET.
