Japan Analog IC Industry Overview
The Japanese analog IC market is moderately consolidated. Some key players operating in the country are Analog Devices KK, STMicroelectronics NV, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, and Skyworks Solutions Inc. The companies focus on product innovations, partnerships, and collaborations to remain in the competition.
- June 2022 - Toshiba and Japan Semiconductor Corporation created an analog method with an integrated non-volatile memory (eNVM) for automotive applications. According to claims, the 0.13-micron process for analog ICs offers an optimized mix of techniques and devices for automotive analog circuits and eNVM on a single chip, according to rated voltage, performance, reliability, and cost. Numerous automotive applications employ analog ICs, including motor driver ICs. The market for analog ICs is anticipated to continue expanding as more cars become electrified and ADAS-equipped.
- July 2022 - Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced the launch of a 50W silicon radio-frequency (RF) high-power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) module for use in high-frequency power amplifiers of commercial two-way radios. The model, which offers a power output of 50W in the 763 MHz to 870 MHz band and high total efficiency of 40%, is expected to help expand the radio communication range and reduce power consumption.
