In March 2023, AWS opened a new AWS Direct Connect facility within the Equinix MB2 data center in Mumbai, India. The new Direct Connect facility is India's ninth, and it provides dedicated 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps, and 100 Gbps connections, with optional MACsec encryption available at 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps speeds.
In January 2022, Colt planned to grow in India by building a new campus for data centers in Navi Mumbai. The complex is anticipated to have ten buildings, 40 data halls, and 40,000 square meters of white data center space spread across 62,000 square meters of land. The business also stated that the campus would have a 120 MW capacity. Phase one will provide 18MW. In the second quarter of 2023, the campus is scheduled to open.
