  • May 2022: Resource REIT Inc. completed the sale of all of its outstanding shares of common stock to Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust Inc. for USD 14.75 per share in an all-cash deal valued at USD 3.7 billion, including the assumption of the REIT's debt.
  • February 2022: The largest owner of commercial real estate in the world and private equity company Blackstone is growing its portfolio of residential rentals and commercial properties in the United States. The company revealed that it would shell out about USD 6 billion to buy Preferred Apartment Communities, an Atlanta-based real estate investment trust that owns 44 multifamily communities and roughly 12,000 homes in the Southeast, mostly in Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, North Carolina, and the Florida cities of Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa.

  • June 2022: United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl and Gewan Islands, and Corinthia Group, a first-class hospitality management company that will operate Corinthia Yacht Club at The Pearl Island and Corinthia Hotel at Gewan Island, signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Monaco Marina Management (M3) and the Yacht Club de Monaco to develop yachting at The Pearl Island and potentially Qatar.

  • January 2022: Barwa Real Estate Company announced its intention to sell its shares in Al Imtiaz Investment Group Company K.S.C., a Kuwaiti public joint stock company. The total number of these shares is (276,631,657), accounting for 24.40% of the company's issued shares. The sale will take place by the regulatory procedures issued by the Kuwaiti Capital Markets Authority and the regulations set by the Kuwait Stock Exchange.

  • September 2022: ApartmentLove Inc., based in Calgary, has recently acquired OwnerDirect.com and finalized a rental listing license agreement with a significant U.S. aggregator as part of its ongoing acquisition and partnership plans. In 30 countries, ApartmentLove (APLV-CN) offers online house, apartment, and vacation rental marketing services.
  • November 2022: The Newmark-owned firm Knotel secured a long-term lease for 23,700 square feet at Ofizzina, a Coral Gables, Florida, office condo project. Knotel intends to finish three complete stories of the 16-story skyscraper at 1200 Ponce De Leon Boulevard. TSG Group and BF Group created Offizina, which consists of 60 office condominiums.
  • June 2022: IWG, a Swiss coworking pioneer, intends to add up to 700 more flexible-office sites to its US portfolio, which now comprises offices in 300 cities, mainly under the Regus and Spaces brands. In the next 12 months, IWG plans to open 500 to 700 additional offices in the United States.
  • November 2022: Balfour Beatty announced that its 50:50 joint venture, Gammon, has been granted an HK Dollar 2.6 billion (USD 0.33 Billion) contract to develop a new office complex in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, on behalf of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. Gammon will be responsible for the construction of a new 25-story office skyscraper with adjacent retail facilities as part of the contract. Footbridges will also be constructed to connect the office building to the World Trade Centre Hong Kong and a shopping center.
  • November 2022: Strabag Real Estate announced the development of Upper One, an office and hotel complex at the junction of ul. Grzybowska and Jana Pawła II, on the site of the out-of-use Atrium International office building. The project, involving the construction of a 34-story high-rise building and a 17-story hotel, will be completed in 2026. Upper One will offer 35.9 thousand sq. m. of office space and approximately 11 thousand sq. m. GLA of hotel space.
  • August 2022: Slate Asset Management, a global alternative investment platform that focuses on real assets, stated that it had paid more than NOK 1.5 billion (USD 0.15 billion) for a portfolio of 36 key real estate properties in Norway. Following closely on the heels of the company's initial two portfolio purchases in the area in December 2021 and March 2022, this deal increases Slate's presence in Norway to a total of 63 critical real estate assets.
  • January 2022: Instone Real Estate, one of the leading residential developers in Germany, continued its successful cooperation with LEG with the sale of around 330 apartments. The transaction includes 96 privately financed rental apartments on the west side site in Bonn-Endenich. In addition, a further 236 rental apartments in the Literature Quarter in Essen – 52 of which are publicly funded and 184 privately financed – are part of the apartment package that LEG Solution acquired as part of a forward deal for the existing LEG companies.
  • August 2022: New retirement living brand Levande was launched in Australia. Levande was been launched by EQT Infrastructure and followed the completion of its acquisition of Stockland Group’s 58 villages across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory. Providing living and support for over 10,000 Australians and with more than 300 employees, Levande is targeting to be one of the largest retirement living providers in Australia and offers communities to support a modern, independent lifestyle and the ability to age in place.
  • February 2022: Resthaven, a provider of aged care and retirement communities, acquired Chiton Retirement Living, a village with 29 contemporary residences. In the direction of Victor Harbor, three kilometers from Resthaven's Port Elliot aged care facility and community services office is the new village. 
  • February 2023: Coworking major WeWork India has started a new centre in Pune with 1,500 desks and 96,000 square feet area amid rising demand for flexible office space from corporates. The new facility is located at Raheja Woods IT Tower developed by K Raheja Corp. This is an asset-light deal, and the company has leased the entire building comprising five floors in this Kalyani Nagar property, spread across a deskspace of 1,500. This is the company's third facility in Pune. WeWork India has a portfolio of over 6.5 million square feet area across 44 locations in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad.
  • May 2022: WeWork India, India’s leading flexible workspace provider, signed its largest expansion deal to date with renowned real estate developer Bhutani Group. This is a long-term operator deal wherein WeWork is taking up the entire tower comprising 25 leasable floors at Bhutani Alphathum, in Noida. Under this partnership and deal structure, the entire building P&L will be owned by Bhutani Group along with fitout investments.
  • July 2022 - The owners and developers of Masar Destination, Umm Al Qurah Development, and Construction Company, and Al Zamer Property Development Company have entered into a purchase agreement. The Al-Zamel Company will own one of its SAR 500 million (USD 13.29 Million) luxury residential towers overlooking the Mazar Front as part of the deal.
  • March 2022 - Abdul Latif Jameel Properties, the residential real estate company, announced that more than half of its new Jeddah lifestyle residential community development sold in the first three days of launch. Dari-2, a 98-unit community development comprising two, three, and four-bedroom dwelling apartments in the heart of Jeddah’s vibrant district Al Salamah, will be completed and ready for handover in early 2024. The hugely positive response to the new community, which also recorded an additional 15% reserved by prospective buyers, follows the successful release of Dari Q, which sold out in 2021.

October 2022 - Hub Australia and Generator, the top domestic flexible workspace providers in Australia and New Zealand, respectively, have teamed up to create one of the largest international coworking options in the area. All 13 of Hub Australia's premium sites and all 5 of Generator's premium sites will be made available to their respective membership bases combined roughly 8,000 members for free, as part of an innovative experimental project.

February 2022 - WeWork (one of the leading providers of flexible shared workspaces for technology startups and services for other enterprises) expanded its strategic partnership with ARHT Media Inc. (the global leader in the development, production, and distribution of high-quality, low-latency hologram, and digital content). In the first phase of the partnership, ARHT Media’s technology will be available across a total of 30 WeWork locations around the world. Furthermore, this technology will be implemented throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Canada.
