Thin Film Resistor Industry Overview
The thin film resistor market is semi-consolidated and has a some major players. The major players in the market are focusing on expanding their customer base across foreign countries. These companies leverage strategic collaborative initiatives to increase their market shares and profitability.
In October 2022, YAGEO Group, the global passive component provider, released an automotive grade thin film, high precision chip resistor - RP Series. With the features of moisture & sulfur resistance, high precision, and increased stability, the thin film resistor product offers case sizes from 0402 to 1206, a resistance range of 10 Ω-1.5M Ω, narrow tolerance of ±0.1%, ±0.25%, ±0.5%, ±1% and low TCR of ±25, ±50 ppm/°C, with a power rating of 1/16 W-1/4 W.
In September 2022, TT Electronics, a global provider of engineered technologies for performance-critical applications, announced its TFHP series thin film, high-power chip resistors. The TFHP product family combines high power and high precision in a single resistor, capitalizing on aluminum nitride (AIN) ceramic substrate with nearly six times the conductivity of alumina, the conventional substrate material for chip resistors.
