Unit Load Device Industry Overview
The market for unit load devices (ULDs) is highly fragmented, with several players holding significant shares. For instance, in September 2021, Qatar Airways Cargo signed a five-year contract with Safran to use Safran Cabin's new Fire Resistant Container (FRC) solution. Under the agreement, the company will replace its entire fleet of more than 10,000 ULDs with this unique container design, with plans to exchange 70% of the units already during 2022.
